SportsRadio 790 WKRD is pleased to announce Jody Demling will join the team as the new host of the weekday Early Birds show.
Demling is a graduate of the University of Louisville, and a past Kentucky Sportswriter of the Year award-winner. He is well-known for his sports reporting successes with the Courier-Journal and CardinalAuthority.Com. Widely acknowledged as an expert on college sports recruiting, Demling has reported on every sport of interest to Kentuckiana, including basketball, football, horse racing, golf, and more.
In making the announcement, Clear Channel Regional Programming Manager Kelly Carls said, “We received nearly 200 applications for this position. Jody really stood out for both his deep knowledge of the local sports scene, and his valuable experience covering a wide variety of different sports.” Carls added, “Jody will be great at not just talking about sports, but sharing the `story behind the story’.”
Jody Demling commented, "Words can't express my excitement for being named host of the Early Birds. It's something I have had my eye on for years and the timing is perfect, taking over a great show, in a great time slot and during a year that has given us many great radio topics. There's no question in my mind, I will be working for and with the best radio team in the region. I've been in this state my entire life and feel honored to be selected as part of the Clear Channel team. I look forward to spending my mornings with you, making your drive to work a little easier."
The Early Birds show airs Mon-Fri from 7AM to 10AM on SportsRadio 790 WKRD. Demling will appear on the show several times in June, and take over hosting duties fulltime on July 1st.
